Many medications with different mechanisms are available to control type 2 diabetes mellitus as (a) metformin which acts through various trajectories to inhibit gluconeogenesis and reduce the level of lipopolysaccharide, (b) insulin secretagogues, (c) alpha-glucosidase inhibitors, (d) dipeptidyl peptidase 4 inhibitors, and (e) sodium-glucose co-transporter-2 inhibitor [4].
