Stromal and intraepithelial scores of CD3 and CD8 were correlated (Pearson’s correlation 0.52–0.77; Supplementary Figs. 3 and 4) and univariable survival analyses demonstrated that both markers in both tissue compartments were strongly associated with 5-year RFS among patients treated by complete resection for stage I–III CRC (n = 1088; Supplementary Tables 5 and 6). Here, CD8A is linked to colorectal carcinoma.
