VEGFA and choroidal neovascularization: The Seven Up study20 reported that, at a mean of 7.3 years (range, 6.3–8.5 years) after entry into Anti-VEGF Antibody for the Treatment of Predominantly Classic Choroidal Neovascularization in AMD (ANCHOR) or Minimally Classic/Occult Trial of the Anti-VEGF Antibody Ranibizumab in the Treatment of Neovascular AMD (MARINA) studies, 37% of study eyes met the primary end point of 20/70 or better, best-corrected VA, with only 23% achieving a best-corrected VA of 20/40 or better.
