CD276 and brain neoplasm: It is upregulated in various types of cancers and implicated in tumor invasion, migration, angiogenesis, and epigenetic modifications.85 Several preclinical studies show anti-tumor effects in GBM and other pediatric brain tumors using B7-H3 CAR T cells.86–88 Importantly, B7-H3 is overexpressed in DMG cells compared to matched normal tissue, highlighting the potential of B7-H3-targeting CAR T cells for these patients.89 Encouragingly, preliminary results from an 18-year-old patient diagnosed with DIPG receiving B7-H3 CAR T cells at disease progression showed no dose-limiting toxicities or CRS.
