The expression of GADD45G is upregulated in the liver in high-fat-diet-induced non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and its expression decreases when the high-fat condition is improved (Wang et al., 2022), which may be related to its effect of on hepatic fibrosis and the occurrence of chemical transformation (Hong et al., 2016). The gene discussed is GADD45G; the disease is metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
