LTF and neoplasm: Lactoferrin plays various roles in the innate immunology of the host,3 inhibition of neutrophil priming by bacterial lipopolysaccharide,4 and modulating inflammation by amplifying apoptotic signals.5 Moreover, lactoferrin has also been documented to exhibit anti-tumor, anti-fungal, anti-viral, and anti-bacterial properties.6 Lactoferrin has recently come under the spotlight, particularly with regards to the new coronavirus pandemic that started in 2019 (COVID-19).
