Based on recommendations for treating patients with only severe types of the disease and the increase of IL-10 levels in the acute phase of viral diseases and their role as the leading cause of this affliction, this study was designed to assess the relationship of IL-10 with the intensity of electrodiagnostic abnormalities (as an established prognostic factor) in Bell’s palsy and to evaluate its possible use as a factor for assessing the need for medical or surgical interventions. This evidence concerns the gene IL10 and Bell's palsy.
