Although, a high sequence conservation also suggests a conservation of structure and function, current experimental insights into the structure or function are missing on human DBNDD1 with the exception of some experimental data indicating that the DBNDD1 gene is associated with melanoma risk and that the DBNDD1 level is decreased in Parkinson’s disease mouse models (Auburger et al. 2016; Fang et al. 2020). This evidence concerns the gene DBNDD1 and Parkinson disease.
