Mutations in RPL22 have been reported in four out of 47 patients with T-ALL, in 23 out of 30 patients with colorectal cancer and in 17 out of 34 patients with endometrial cancer [17,18]; 22–67% of 7225 cancer specimens from The Cancer Genome Atlas contain deletions of various single RP genes and 12–58% contain deletions in multiple RP genes [19]. This evidence concerns the gene BLOC1S3 and cancer.
