ABCG1 and familial hypercholesterolemia: The data suggested that the C3G reduces cholesterol and 7-oxysterol levels through the ATP binding cassette subfamily G member 1 (ABCG1) pathway, lowering superoxide generation and increasing eNOS activity and NO bioavailability, therefore alleviating hypercholesterolemia-induced endothelial dysfunction and atherosclerosis [120].
