In consistency with this finding, a previous study conducted by Yu et al. revealed that in mouse and zebrafish, the enforced expression of JMJD2C could regulate melanoma cell senescence and in vivo tumor growth to augment melanomagenesis driven by Braf-V600E, with H3K9 demethylase activities observed in melanoma cell lines as well as primary human melanoma samples [8]. The gene discussed is KDM4C; the disease is melanoma.
