This effect is partially due to the regulation of c-Myc by SENP1: overexpression of c-Myc partially rescued the cell growth inhibition induced by SENP1 knockdown, and SENP1 knockdown inhibits cell proliferation and transformation activity more efficiently in Myc-sensitive BC cell lines than in Myc-insensitive cell lines.
