TNFAIP3 and systemic lupus erythematosus: TNFAIP3 represents a possible inflammatory candidate gene that could influence fertility, as TNFAIP3 regulates inflammation through control of NF-κB which in turn influences many aspects of fertility, and GWAS data link TNFAIP3 SNPs with autoimmune diseases with female bias and associated infertility (i.e. with SLE, RA and MS).
