A recent study reports that at the later stage (24 h) of infection of Drosophila with M. luteus, the lncRNA-CR11538 inhibited the transcription of AMPs via decoying Dif/dorsal away from AMP promoter, thereby negatively modulating the Toll signaling pathway and inhibiting their transcriptions to prevent abusive immune activation in Drosophila with M. luteus infection (153). The gene discussed is TLR4; the disease is infection.
