Among breast cancer cases diagnosed in South Florida from 2006-2017, Caribbean-born NHB immigrants were diagnosed with a larger proportion of estrogen receptor-positive (ER+) and progesterone receptor-positive (PR+) tumors compared to American-born NHB (ER+: 68.7% vs. 61%; P = 0.019 and PR+: 58.3% vs. 50.4%; P = 0.02) (45). This evidence concerns the gene ESR1 and breast cancer.
