Particularly, in three patients with persistent ACTH-secreting lung carcinoids after surgery, which expressed D2 and in two cases even D4 receptors, normalization of urinary cortisol levels was reported in two (66.7%) patients, bearing a tumour expressing D2 and D4 receptor, after 3 months of treatment at a dosage of 3.5 mg/week, with a significant improvement in clinical picture, particularly blood pressure and glucose metabolism.
