This is supported by a recent immunohistochemical study which showed overexpression of cyclin D1 protein from epithelial dysplasia to OSCC: a proportional increase in the percentage of cyclin D1 expression with an increase in the histopathological grade, i.e., from well differentiated to poorly differentiated OSCC [90]. Here, CCND1 is linked to intraepithelial neoplasia.
