Zhang et al. reported that serum and synovial expression levels of KIAA1199 were correlated with the amounts of low molecular weight-HA (LMW-HA) in RA patients and that administration of anti-KIAA1199 monoclonal antibody in CIA mice suppressed the severity of arthritis and reduced levels of serum LMW-HA, suggesting that the inhibition of KIAA1199-increased LMW-HA may be a possible therapeutic target in RA [23]. The gene discussed is CEMIP; the disease is Arthritis.
