In the CANTOS study (Canakinumab Anti-inflammatory Thrombosis Outcome Study), involving patients with a history of myocardial infarction and a high-sensitivity CRP level (≥2 mg/L), canakinumab therapy led to a 15% reduction in major cardiovascular events (nonfatal myocardial infarction, nonfatal stroke and cardiovascular death). This evidence concerns the gene CRP and myocardial infarction.
