In the current study, we also observed a significantly higher frequency of the rs3130484 SNP in T1D patients (35.5%) than in controls (17.8%, OR = 2.54 (1.77–3.66), p = 3.01 × 10−7) that could suggest that the SNP located within the MSH5 gene might affect autoimmunity development both in CD and T1D. The gene discussed is MSH5; the disease is type 1 diabetes mellitus.
