The proteoglycans in the cancer pathway demonstrate the interaction of candidate hub genes with proteoglycans that, in turn, activate different downstream signaling pathways (such as MAPK, Wnt, PI3K-Akt, and VEGF signaling pathways) enabling tumor cell proliferation, migration, invasion, angiogenesis, growth, and survival [62,63,64], which also corroborate our screened hub gene list from text-mining data of metastasis-related biological process. This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and cancer.
