CD4 and epidermolysis bullosa: In particular, a significant reduction in CD3+, CD4+ and CD68+ has been demonstrated in RDEB-cSCC compared to primary cSCC in patients without EB, with a further significant reduction in CD3+, CD4+, CD8+ and CD20+ compared to secondary cSCC (postburns and postradiotherapy), thus suggesting that a certain degree of immune tolerance towards cancer antigens is present within RDEB skin [29].
