CRP and bacterial infectious disease with sepsis: In cases of persistent bacteremia and elevated CRP levels in a central line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI) with associated LOS/septic shock, IE should be considered, even in extremely preterm newborns, considering the clinical and laboratory presentation in a fragile, preterm patient after receiving antibiotic therapy at birth for early-onset sepsis (EOS) prevention, total parenteral nutrition, and having a long-term central venous catheter.
