Radioligand neuroimaging studies using the GABAA receptor ligand [11C]-Flumazenil have been reported in ALS [55,79,80,81], with widespread reductions in binding in sporadic and SOD1 D90A ALS patients, particularly involving the frontal lobes and anterior cingulate gyri [55,79,80,81]. This evidence concerns the gene SOD1 and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
