Xie et al., in a study carried out in 2020 with 140 hospitalized SARS-CoV-2 infected subjects having moderate to severe bronchopneumonia and needing oxygen supplementation, observed that subjects with oxygen saturation ≤90% had a median CRP level of 76.5 mg/L, which was significantly higher than subjects having oxygen saturation of >90%, that is, median CRP level 12.7 mg/L. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and bronchopneumonia.
