Since OS has a wide variety of pharmacological applications and is well established as an inhibitor of the phosphorylation of inflammatory transcription activator NF-κB, TNF-α, and MAPK-related proteins [22,23,27,30,43,44,45], it could also be a potential therapeutic molecule for various pregnancy-related disorders, such as spontaneous preterm birth and preeclampsia, where NF-κB [46,47,48,49,50], TNF-α, and MAPK-related proteins play a major role. This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and preeclampsia.
