Although multiple mutations in genes encoding the proteins from the cascades of RAS–RAF–MEK ERK, PI3K/Akt/PTEN/mTOR, P53, and APC pathways are important driver mutations to promote cancer progression and treatment resistance, there is a lack of reliable biomarker models based on the combination of the multiple gene mutations to predict CRC metastasis and treatment response [4]. This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and colorectal carcinoma.
