Implantation of colon cancer cells either preconditioned with TASCs and then sorted prior to injection, or admixed with TASCs immediately before injection led to the formation of larger tumor masses, as compared to tumor cells cultured and injected alone (Figure 3a–c), which were also characterized by a higher vascularization, as detectable by CD31-specific staining (Figure 3d).
