There is a hypothesis that in dengue patients with significant plasma leakage, a rising hematocrit level occurs in the febrile phase to the critical phase, and it is associated with decreasing levels of some immune mediators that function in anti-inflammation (IL-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1RA)) and chemotaxis (interferon-γ-inducible protein 10 (IP-10)) [29].
