A study of the gene expression profile of the chorioamniotic membranes obtained from women in labour without chorioamnionitis showed upregulation of neutrophil-specific chemokines, including chemokine C-X-C motif ligand 1 (CXCL1), CXCL2, and CXCL8, and monocyte-specific chemokines C-C motif ligand 3 (CCL3), CCL4, and CCL20 [29]. This evidence concerns the gene CXCL8 and chorioamnionitis.
