We found that the lnc-IL7R level correctly identified patients with COPD (sensitivity = 0.83, specificity = 0.83), precisely discriminated those without emphysematous phenotype (sensitivity = 0.48, specificity = 0.89), and its differential expression reflected disease course based on its correlation with the COPD GOLD stage (r = −0.59, p < 0.001), %LAA-950insp (r = −0.30, p = 0.002), total LAA (r = −0.35, p < 0.001), FEV1(%) (r = 0.52, p < 0.001), FVC (%) (r = 0.45, p < 0.001), and post-bronchodilator FEV1/FVC (r = 0.41, p < 0.001). The gene discussed is IL7R; the disease is chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
