We then explored the possibility that an altered PC composition of Lpcat1 KO photoreceptor OS membrane affected the localization and function of phototransduction-related proteins since the mislocalization of photoreceptor OS-localized proteins, such as rhodopsin and phosphodiesterase 6β (PDE6β), is observed in various types of retinal degeneration (20, 21). This evidence concerns the gene PDE6B and retinal degeneration.
