Increased plasma levels of 17 out of 27 cytokines including inflammatory cytokines (IL-1β, IL-6, IL-7, IL-8, and IL-9), immunomodulatory cytokines (IL-2 and IL-15), chemokines (eotaxin, IP-10, MCP-1, MIP-1α, and MIP-1β), growth factor (G-CSF), as well as anti-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1ra, IL-4, IL-5, and IL-10) and decreased plasma levels of IFN-γ and PDGF were found to be significantly associated with the presence of BA. The gene discussed is CCL2; the disease is breast angiosarcoma.
