In our multivariate logistic regression analyses with adjusting for confounders, BA was shown to be associated with higher plasma levels of 17 out of 27 cytokines including inflammatory cytokines (IL-1β, IL-6, IL-7, IL-8, and IL-9), immunomodulatory cytokines (IL-2 and IL-15), chemokines (eotaxin, IP-10, MCP-1, MIP-1α, and MIP-1β), growth factor (G-CSF), and anti-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1ra, IL-4, IL-5, and IL-10), but significantly correlated with lower plasma IFN-γ levels. The gene discussed is IL2; the disease is breast angiosarcoma.
