In contrast to ZEB1/2, the expression level of Snail is not closely linked to mesenchymal phenotypes in OSCC and breast cancer cells [7, 8], but Snail is reported to be aberrantly expressed in some types of cancers, and regulates various biological processes such as cell motility, proliferation, cellular senescence, and apoptosis [14]. The gene discussed is ZEB1; the disease is cancer.
