FABP5 was demonstrated to promote angiogenesis through activating the IL6/STAT3/VEGFA pathway in HCC (Pan et al., 2018) (Table 2), or transporting excessive levels of fatty acids into the nucleus of the cancer cells to activate PPARγ thereby up-regulating the expression of VEGF (Bao et al., 2013) (Figure 7 and Table 2).
