In a cross-sectional CT study that included 409 middle-aged women, individuals who presented with clinically relevant depressive symptomatology [Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression (CES-D) score ≥ 16] displayed significantly increased VAT after adjustment for age, race, total percentage of fat, and sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG). This evidence concerns the gene SHBG and depressive symptom measurement.
