GSTM1 and colorectal neoplasm: A German study, for example, showed that lowering the cut-off from ≥20 μg Hb/g faeces to ≥9 μg Hb/g faeces may increase the sensitivity for advanced colorectal neoplasms from ~34 to 49%, although this would be achieved at the expense of a doubling of FIT positivity rate, from 8 to 16% and a substantial loss in specificity, from 96 to 89% [47].
