NLRP3 and infectious disease: The NOD-like receptor family, pyrin domain containing 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome is one of the most widely studied inflammasomes, and that consist of the NLRP3, adaptor protein apoptosis-associated speck-like protein (ASC) and caspase-1 [2], and which acts an important role in immune-related diseases including sepsis and other infectious diseases [3, 4].
