RBC (p = 0.012), AlAt, C-peptide (both p < 0.001) were higher whereas SHBG (p = 0.002), adiponectin and IGFBP-1 (both p < 0.001) were lower in individuals with prediabetes/diabetes in comparison with individuals with normal glucose tolerance (Table 1). This evidence concerns the gene SHBG and diabetes mellitus.
