The staining for all the immunoreactants i.e., IgG, IgA, IgM, Kappa, Lambda, C3, and C1q was increased along the GBM in the biopsy of patients with high B cell IFNβ, compared to patients with low B cell IFNβ (p = 0.002), indicating increased deposition of IC in the former category of the lupus patients Fig. 4A. Although the IC in the mesangium and tubules of the biopsy of the high B cell IFNβ group was more prevalent compared to the low B cell IFNβ group; this did not reach statistical significance (p = 0.107, p = 0.313, respectively) (Fig. 4B, C). The gene discussed is C3; the disease is systemic lupus erythematosus.
