The fact that treatment with Juglone or KPT6566 inhibited expression of β-catenin and cyclin D1 in Caco-2 cells (Figure 3) further supports the conclusion that overexpression of Pin1 and β-catenin is closely related to development of human CRC (Kim et al., 2005), and that Pin1 plays an essential role in colorectal carcinogenesis by regulating cyclin D1 expression (Kuramochi et al., 2006). The gene discussed is CCND1; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
