As we reported recently (Kim et al., 2021), unsorted parental Caco-2 cells comprised three representative subpopulations (non-tumor-initiating CD44−CD133- cells, non-tumor-initiating CD44−CD133+ cells, and tumor-initiating CD44+CD133+ cells); however, a CD44+CD133− Caco-2 fraction was barely detectable (Figure 5A top panel).
