In aggregate, integrative genomic analysis identified five molecular signatures associated with mitochondrial complexes, potentially participating in the pathogenesis of AD through oxidative phosphorylation (COX5A, NDUFAB1, SDHB, UQCRC2, and UQCRFS1) and retrograde endocannabinoid signaling (NDUFAB1) pathways. This evidence concerns the gene UQCRC2 and Alzheimer disease.
