In the asthmatic population, miR-144-3p directly correlates with NR3C1 (Pearson r = 0.60; p <0.05), RHOA (Pearson r = 0.61; p < 0.05), GATA3 (Pearson r = 0.70; p < 0.01), STAT6 (Pearson r = 0.69; p < 0.01), SOCS5 (Pearson r = 0.65; p < 0.05), and PTEN (Pearson r = 0.76; p < 0.01) as observed in Figure 5B, while it is not correlated with PTGS2 expression (Pearson r = 0.06; p = 0.8, data not shown), meaning that miR-144-3p overexpression in asthmatic lungs is associated with an asthma-related genetic background.
