TNF and irritable bowel syndrome: Significant improvements from baseline in disease activity were seen following 3 months of anti-TNF-α treatment, with regard to median Mayo scores in UC patients (10.0 vs 3.0; p < 0.001), and median Crohn’s Disease Activity Index (CDAI) score in CD patients (77.2 vs 40.9; p = 0.044), as well as median fecal calprotectin levels in all IBD patients (1 572 vs 378 μg/g; p = 0.004) (Table 1).
