Our results not only showed that MPE-derived NSCLC cell lines recapitulated representative genetic aberrations of the primary NSCLC including epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) fusion with other domains, but also demonstrated the presence of distinct translational subtypes in accordance with the mutational profiles, which was consistently reflected to the drug responses of certain targeted chemotherapies. The gene discussed is EGFR; the disease is non-small cell lung carcinoma.
