INS and Obesity: Several cardiometabolic parameters, such as serum glucose, insulin, fatty acid, triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), and high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) levels, and adipocytes are involved in the pathogenesis of obesity, in addition to the gastric and nervous systems that regulate appetite and control food intake (Vassallo, 2007; Zhang et al., 2014; Schwartz et al., 2017; Cercato and Fonseca, 2019).
