Epigallocatechin gallate, the major polyphenol in green tea, inhibited HFD-induced obesity by enhancing BAT thermogenesis and diminishing the hypothalamic inflammation and microglia overactivation through NF-κB and STAT3 pathway regulation (Zhou et al., 2018). Here, NFKB1 is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
