Silencing of SOCS1 by methylation is reported in hepatocellular carcinoma and other tumors like cervical cancer [76], hepatoblastoma[77], esophageal squamous cancers[78], melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck, pancreatic carcinoma and breast and ovarian cancer [79]. This evidence concerns the gene SOCS1 and exocrine pancreatic carcinoma.
