CLSTN3 and infection: That these phenotypes are caused by the deletion of Clstn3 specifically in Purkinje cells is indicated by the exclusively high expression of Clstn3 in these neurons, the low expression of Clstn3 in other cerebellar cell types, and the preferential infection of Purkinje cells by the AAV serotype we were using (Figure 1, Figure 1—figure supplement 1, Figure 2—figure supplement 2).
