As shown in Figures 8(a) and 8(b), in the PCOS group and after treatments with erastin and MAPK inhibitor, a decrease in the expression of GPX4, BAX, NF-κB, and HMGB1 was observed in ovarian tissues whereas treatment with CRY and ferrostatin-1 was followed by an abrogation of this effect characterized by an increase in cells staining positive for these proteins. The gene discussed is GPX4; the disease is polycystic ovary syndrome.
